Roger Dahl left the checkpoint Kirkenes at 14:41. Two hours later Harald Tunheim took his jacket and hit the road. Also Petter Jahnsen and Tore Bergby prepared their departure. The next stop will be in Neiden, but the trail does not follow the same way back. The distance to Neiden is about 70 km.

Harald Tunheim started from Kirkenes at 16:14. He is the second musher, who leaves the checkpoint. Therewith the hunt after the leading has opened. The lead of Dahl is now only one and a half hour. Tunheim managed to catch up at the checkpoint. He rested only five hours while Dahl paused nearly seven hours.

Tunheims dogs looked very well when they left the checkpoint, despite the short break. It is important, weather they could rebuild long enough to close in Roger Dahl and his team.

Petter Jahnsen, Kjell Brennodden, Eirik Nilsen, May-Conny Johansen as well as Hans Petter Dalby started from Kirkenes until now.
