When Hilde Askildt passed through Jotka Fjellstube, the was 13 minutes in front of Jan Øystein Dervo in 500 km class. That means maybe, that she is the first female winner in the history of Finnmarksløpet.

"I think, that it is going a bit slow, but the dogs are comparatively in a good mood." said Hilde while she tried to help her dogs with kicking the sledge through the checkpoint. Now their team have to go only 40 kilometres to reach the finishing line.

Dervo passed through the checkpoint 13 minutes after Askildt. He still has all of his dogs with him, but he lost 12 minutes since he started in Suossjavre. His lead dog wanted to stop and eat something at Jotka, but Dervo managed to pass through the Checkpoint without stopping. He wanted to continue his chase after Askildt. At the third place follows Katy Meier, 17 minutes after Dervo.

Jan Brunner and Emil Inauen lie 24 minutes behind Meier.
