Nervewracking

Those thinking that we were going to see some kind of decisive change in the 500 km race at the arrival in Suossjavri, can just forget these thoughts. Only one (1!) minute seperates the leading Hilde Askildt and Jan Øystein Dervo at the checkpoint in Suosjavri. And Katy Meier has not yet given in either. She is trailing by a mere 15 minutes.

Askildt and Dervo have been following each other the whole way. They were only seperated by three minutes when leaving Karasjok and after 83 km the distance crumbled to a mere minute.

Both Askildt and Dervo came into the checkpoint with 8 dogs. But at the arrival Askildt took one dog out.

Katy Meier has also decided to leave another dog. Therefore she will be continuing with only 6 dogs.

Watch out! The resting time is set so that the mushers have to rest a minimum of 6 hours at this checkpoint. Therefore we can see the first starter going out at 9:43 and the second only one minute later.
