Close behind Harald Tunheim and Petter Jansen arrive two strong challenger in Neiden. Tore Bergby and Kjell Brennodden (picture) reach the checkpoint as number 3 and 4. Both of them have now established their position on the forefront. The two challenger keep a higher speed and also have rested for a longer time already, comments expert Trond Ørslien.

Tore Bergby lost time in Neiden because of two dogs in heat. The she-dogs were the reason why the team lost its focus. Tore had to change the leading dog seven times. The team speeded up as he finally placed the two dogs in heat in front. This positioning worked out very well.

Kjell Brennodden was the fastest of the 4 "front-drivers" on the 95 km long leg towards Neiden. But also he had to surrender against Rookie May-Conny Kjell from Alta. On that leg she drove five minuts faster than Kjell and almost one hour faster than Petter. With other words: she has a very fast team.

"The dogs had an extra-long rest in Skippagurra because I overslept", laughs May-Conny. The tension rises, after 400 km are done. Still, everything is possible.
