Tension in Levajokk

Hilde Askildt was the first musher in 500km race, who left the checkpoint Skoganvarre. Jon Øyvind Selmer went out 35 minutes later. After him sledge after sledge left the Checkpoint.

35 of the 43 teams are now on their way over the mountain to Levajok. The people in Levajok are wondering about, which team will arrive Levajok first. The first teams are expected between 2 and 3 o’clock. Nobody goes to bed, before he or she knows the answer.

Katy Meier, who arrived Skoganvarre first, rested five hours - like promised - before she set out for Levajok. The second musher who came in to Skokanvarre, Hilde Askildt, decided to pause only two hours, prior she went for the 88 km to Levajok. She is afraid about the weather and did not want to wait longer than necessary.
