It's just sad

Race Marshal Marit Honerød is sorry that the checkup conducted by Mattilsynet causes dramatic consequences for several of the foreign mushers.

- We do not yet know who and how many will be caught in this, says Honerød.

- We have close contact to Mattilsynet and wait to clarify the situation. I am deeply sorry that such a renown and good musher as Thomas Hoffmann will quit the race now, says the race marshal who could not imagine a worse scenario for the start of the anniversary run.

But she wishes to point out that the information the mushers received should have been sufficient.

- We informed about the rules on our english webpage. The veterinarian rules are clearly explained there. It is in the responsibility of every musher to read the rules and then follow them. This is the same for everyone, but it is of course very sad that several f the foreign mushers could now be stopped. It is however important that we follow the norwegian veterenarian rules.
