The youngest musher

Christian Erichsen is 21 years old, rookie and the youngest participant in Finnmarksløpet. He is not very experienced either, and he is thinking about the weather and how it will influence his race. He is also wondering about whether his dogs and himself will get enough rest and sleep during the race.

Christian is the youngest rookie of the race. I have only raced for one year and I do not have much experience - I am an absolute rookie, he says. He received a phonecall during Christmas from Bjørn Utstøl who asked whether he would like to race in Finnmarksløpet. Christian answered yes immediately without giving it much thought, but he does not regret hs decision. He has been training hard for a month and a half and is looking forward to test the dogs. I am thinking about the weather alot and hope it will not lead to difficulties, he says. He is also hoping to finish the race without any serious injuries to the dogs. His strategy is to follow and hang on to Bjørn Utstøl.
