The book about Finnmarksløpet almost ready

Finnmarksløpet was organized for the first time in 1981. There were three starting, two of them completed, and Sven Engholm won. This year they race for the 25th time. The distance has quadrupled, numbers of mushers are 28 times what it was in 1981. Finally, in 1981 there were zero books, in 2005 there is ONE! A hundred percent increase!

The race started in Alta and crossed the mountain plateau to Karasjok and returned. A distance of 263kilometers. 85 mushers has signed up for the challenge, 40 for 500killometer, 45 for 1000kilometer.

The book describes Finnmarkslopets history and development, and show how it has had a major influence on the development of long-distance mushing in Norway. It is about 170 pages and 28 x 25centimeters. It is a dual language book, Norwegian and English.
