Opens its doors to Finnmarksløpet

Várjjat Sami Museum (Varanger Sami Museum)has opned it`s doors to Finnmarksløpet. From the 2005 race, the museum is a new checkpoint where the mushers and dogs can receive supplies during the race. Because of this the checkpoint Skippagurra are skipped on the return from Kirkenes.

From Varangerbotn og Várjjat Sami Museum the track goes directly south-west over the moors between Varangerbotn and Tana and out the Tana river a little south of Skippagurra. Next checkpoint is in Sirbma. The track to Sirbma follows the Tana river to Hillagura. From Hillagura to Sirbma the track makes a turn north and up towards tha platau.
