When the six teams in the lead of FL-1000 have left Karasjok, one thing seams pretty evident: It seems like Marit Beate Kasin will be able to bring a cabin from Saltdalshytta home to Valdres.

The team with the best accumulated result in the FL-1000 race 2016 and 2017, will win a cabin worth NOK 550.000 from Saltdalshytta.

Karasjok is expected to be the last stop before Alta for all six teams who are fighting to win, and their positions can quickly change on the way from Karasjok via Jotka to Alta.

But based on the position to Karasjok, Kasin has something to look forward to.

Arriving in Karasjok the order was as follows 1) Petter Jahnsen, 2) Marit Beate Kasin, 3) Lasse Austgarden, 4) Kristoffer Halvorsen, 5) Kristian Walseth, 6) Thomas Wærner, 7) Ola Brennodden Sunde, 8) Niklas Rogne og 9) Arnt Ola Skjerve.

Jahnsen, Halvorsen and Walseth did not participate in FL-1000 last year, and thus are not part of the battle for the cabin. This gives us the following list based on accumulated results from 2016 and 2017:

1) Marit Beate Kasin (4)
2) Arnt Ola Skjerve (12)
3) Lasse Austgarden (13)
4) Ola Brennodden Sunde (14)

In other words, something big must happen if Kasin is not to be the one to bring the cabin back tol Valdres. Can she maintain a certain gap between herself and her competitors, she can soon start searching for a place to put her new cabin.

Should something happen to Kasin’s team, however, the competition over the cabin will be a lot mor interesting.

One thing is for sure – nothing is certain until the teams have crossed the finish line Alta. The winner is expected to arrive in Alta around 9 p.m. this evening.
