It has only been a month since she decided to participate in the Finnmark Race. Today Tuva Almås made it all the way to the top in FL-Junior in her first attempt.
Tuva says that it was only during this year’s Femund Race in February that she decided to start the Finnmark Race.

Tuva is what can be called a self-made musher. No one in her family is into sled dog racing, and the passion comes from Tuva herself.
- We have winter one day a year, her father explains from the side-line. The family has a cabin in Røldal, and Tuva spends a lot of time there, training dogs.
In the beginning, Tuva borrowed dogs in order to learn mushing. After a while, she has gotten six dogs of her own. She made to the finish line with a team of dogs she has borrowed. All six dogs made it to the finish.

Mina Skjøthaug Karlstrøm arrived four small minutes after Almås, and Hanna Lyrek finished two minutes behind her. Three happy girls are on the podium in this year’s FL-Junior.
Congratulations!
