Better recovery for the dogs

Did you know that physical treatment can give better and faster recovery after hard physical activity?  Think about Petter Northug. He gets massages after both training and competition, in order for muscles and joints to recover faster and to improve his achievements. Make sense?

Have you thought about that the same principles apply to sled dogs?

Recovery therapists in place

During this year’s Finnmark Race, there will be recovery therapists available for all dogs participating in the race. The therapists examine the whole dog and treat based on what they find, for instance swollen wrists, sore shoulders and back, fibroids, muscle soreness, hamstring strains, tendon injuries.

They will be available at certain check points to treat dropped dogs, as well as after the finish line.

Recovery therapists Anneli and Ingjerd are both educated in dog massage and recovery, as well as laser therapy. They normally run their own companies, Optimal Hund in Tromsø and Nidaros Hundemassasje in Trondheim.

Anneli (picture under) can be reached at cell phone +47 958 49 337,
mens Ingjerd (front page picture) can be reached at +47 905 01 903.
