Show start for the Finnmark Race

There was hustling and bustling in Alta city during the show start. All FL-1000 participants started out with six dogs, and had a passenger in the sled.

The show race takes the participants through a 7 km long track around Alta. Throughout there will be four posts, with different tasks for the participants to solve, before a winner will be selected.

Many had come to Alta city to watch the show start. Tourists, locals, students and others got to see the teams fly down the track in Markedsgata – in the opposite direction of the actual start. The teams hit the trails in pairs of two on their way out of town.

The actual Finnmark Race starts Saturday March 5^th at 11:00.
