Kenneth Nilsen (32) from Ytre Enebakk participates in the Finnmark Race for the first time this year. He chose the “big class” FL-1000, without racing in the 500 first. Still, it is not an inexperienced rookie out on the trail - Kenneth started mushing at the age of 14.

Kenneth has been active in Oslomarka Trekkhundklubb. He has also participated in most local mid-distance races. Having begun his career with sprint races, using dogs from Trine Lise Bakke, Nilsen switched to more polar-type dogs from 1997. He has completed several short Femund races, and also a F600, where he ended up number 16.

Througout the race he has stayed high in the result lists, but without fighting for the very top places. Early Saturday morning at 05:27 he arrived at the finish line in Alta.
