When our reporter asks how the leg from Levajok to Karasjok has been, Ekran says :

- The winds were heads on, but the tracks were good. She says the winds were not as hard when she was able to move out of Levajok.

It was a slightly tired musher who arrived in Karasjok the exact moment the evening’s program on NRK begun. Ekan was not very chatty when she arrived, and she was quick to find the place for her dogs to rest so she could begin taking care of them. She also found time to receive a gift from Karasjok municipality.

Ekran has spent 6 hours and 49 minutes on the leg from Levajok to Karasjok. It is only 20 minutes more than she used on the same distance last year. When arriving in Karasjok, she has 3 hours and 50 minutes remaining on her mandatory resting time. The closest competitors - Kjell Brennodden and Ralph Johannessen - have 03:02 and 03:51 respectively remaining mandatory resting time. Yet, they are quite a bit behind Ekran on the tracks.

It is not impossible that Ekran chooses to rest longer than the 10 mandatory hours, hoping that a bit more time on straw will result in a fresher team of dogs when she is heading out on the last legs toward Jotka and the finish line in Alta.
