The team with the best accumulated result in the FL-1000 race in 2014 and 2015 will win a Saltdalshytta cabin worth NOK 540,000. Last year's winner, Sigrid Ekran, is in the lead of the 2015 race and thus has a firm grip on the pri ze. However, there are still many miles to go before she arrives in Alta, so nothing is given yet.
Behind her, the main threat is Birgitte Næss Wærner. She finished 2nd last year, and is at present #4. If she beats Ekran in the end she might bring the Saltdalshytta cabin back to Synnfjell, given that Ekran finishes third or worse. If Wærner wins the 2015 race and Ekran finishes 2nd, they will have an identical accumulated result. In such a case, the musher who has used the least amount of time (accumulated 2014 + 2014) will bring the cabin home.
Birgitte may get help from a.o. Harald Tunheim, if he manages to wedge inn between herself and Ekran in the end. But Tunheim may also stand a fair chance at winning the cabin - he finished 4th last year, and with a strong finish this year he might have an opportunity. In that case, however, both Ekran and Wærner must perform poorly over the next few days.
Ronny Frydenlundn finished 3rd last year, but he does at present not appear to be in this game. Leaving Neiden he's currently ranked as # 10 in the race.
