The drivers of the trail snowmobiles have probably had the toughest job among the 260 volunteers participating in the Finnmarksløpet Race. Mild weather or blizzards - these guys are always ahead of the lead dog team. During this year's race they even had to handle a major trail change on very short notice. - It has been great, as always, Arne Dahl of Tromsø says. He has been driving one of the trail snowmobiles three years in a row. The guys look tired, as there's not a lot of sleep for the snowmobile drivers either during the race. The challenges have been plenty, but this is what makes it exciting, Dahl says on behalf of the group.
