One week ago, Havrda did not think he would be able to participate in the Finnmarkslopet 2015. Monday this week, however, he was told he would be able to start. His original plan was to start a race in Russia.

- As the Russians are currently more focused on other things than dog racing, it was great that I got the opportunity to participate in Finnmarkslopet, says Havrda.

Havrda is rookie and is likely to become rookie of the year. In addition, he is currently in position for a place on the podium, something which can only be described as very impressive.

- The goal all along has been to finish and to make it among the top ten. I am therefore ahead of my objective, and very pleased.

As known, there was a lot of wind going over Gaissane and the weather forecast predicts moderate gale’s force during the last leg.

- The weather when going to Skoganvarre was not as bad as expected, he says. – All in all it was a good stretch, but I would have liked to have it earlier in the race, when the dogs were even fresher.

Going out of the check-point, the dogs were a bit stiff from resting in the straw. This usually goes away as soon as the dogs warm up.
