17 year old Anette Børve Hernes managed to keep her competitors behind her all the way from Suossjavri to Alta and arrived as # 1 across the finish line. All her six dogs completed the race. Hanna Lyrek arrived next, just a few hundred metres behind her as # 2. This means that Anette is the first Junior World Champion ever in long distance sleddog racing.

-This feels utterly awesome, this is what I have been working for, she said upon finishing the race. Anette comes from Eidfjord in Hardanger, and she is already Junior Norwegian Champion from the 2014 Femund Race. She also finished 3rd in the 2014 Finnmark Junior Race.
In addition to winning the gold medal she is also awarded a prize; an excellent competition sled from Elwetrische Sleds. Read more about it here.
