- This was a tough race, but not the worst, said Roger Dahl after having crossed the finish line in third place -46 minutes after Ralph Johannessen. He had sweated more than usual.
He and his dog had longed for colder weather. Like the other mushers Roger pointed out that the challenges introduced by the weather were extremely unusual challenges for the mushers. The sled is packed with equipment for extreme cold and the hazards of a polar area.
Even though he arrived at 02:50 at night there was a small crowd awaiting him at the finish line. Mari Noodt Westphal, a young musher herself, got an autograph from the musher that participated now already for the 18th time.
