After having worked hard with preparing the checkpoint Saturday, handling the FL-500 race teams Sundya and cleaning up the place on Monday, Tuesday was a day of rest for the crew at cp Levajok.

The students of the B.A. in Arctic Wildlife class staffs cp Levajok 1 and 2 under the supervision of cp manager Mari Skillestad. When the students go some time off they did not hesitate getting out and about. The Tana valley and Levajok offer plenty of opportunities for arctic wildlife - river, forest and the plain with mountains nearby. This is a great location for wildlife students - and for the wolverine, it appears.

In the trail to Skoganvarre, just before the trail gets up on the mountains, a wolverine had wandered along the trail. The wolverine had moved in the landscape along the trail for about 4-500 metres before heading for the mountains again. - Oh, nevermind, says Molle at cp Levajok. - I see wolverine tracks every day. Nevertheless, it was a big experience for those who don't live in the wilderness.

On Wednesday the wildlife experience is over for this time. Then the students start preparing the checpoint Levajok2 for the FL-1000 mushers, and everyone look forward to welcoming the first teams in the night to Thursday.
