It was a very happy Ronny Wingren who arrived at the finish line at 16:03 CET as winner of the FL-500 race. In his 5th Finnmarksløpet Race he finally succeeded in making it to the top of the list. His best finish earlier was the 2nd place in 2009.

Ronny started the competition with six dogs of his own and two that he borrowed from his father Ole, who also started the race this year. All dogs also finished the race.

Before starting, his handler Thor-Leif Holm thought this race could be an advantage for Ronny. - The fact that the route has been changed into the opposite direction of before will be a challenge, especially for the experienced mushers. They will have to adjust more and to design new strategies, Holm argued.

One can definitely say he was right, and that Ronny Wingren succeeded with his tactics. Since Ronny arrrived first at cp Levajok at about half distance, he has been in the lead.

We congratulate this year's FL-500 Champion!
