A few kilometres before checkpoint Jergul, Andreas Tommervik passed Jan Slosar on the frozen lake. Coming in first, Tommervik was registered at 7.11 PM. Behind Slosar, Finnish Taisto Torneus came in third, 25 minutes later. After him, the competitors appeared closely one after the other.
Tommervik explained the trip over the mountain went nicely, even though the weather was not exactly a musher’s dream.
- The temperature was just above zero, but luckily the team had the strong wind behind them pushing forward. This made the strain on the dogs easier, explains Tommervik.
