Last night, the Finnmarksløpet Press Center was in contact with the earlier Finnmarksløpet musher and realist Arne Offvar Nilsen who is awaiting for the winner.

He has done the following analysis:

He has looked at the performance and results of the past year racers. He sees an overall positive trend for all teams which average speed goes up on the stretch Karasjok - Alta compared with the stretch Levajok - Karasjok. The best lap time between Karasjok and Jotka: 6 hours and stretching to Jotka - Alta 3:50. Unofficial sources report that Thomas Werner has had good speed in the team and is sledding away from Inger Marie Haaland at the stretch after Assebakti.

LATEST: Thomas passed Jotka at 4:46 and if he uses lesser than four hours to Alta, we can predict to see him at the finish line around 8:30. But a lot can still happen and nothing is decided before the first guy comes across the finish line.
