At exactly 20.52PM Thomas Wærner started out from Karasjok. After 8 hours of resting in cold Karasjok, he was the first to start on the 133km long trail back to Alta. In 10-12 hours we will know if he is the first to cross the finish line as the winner of The Finnmarkslopet 2013.

Wærner will get competition fra Inger-Marie Haaland and Arnt Ola Skjerve, who is right behind Wærner. Both seemd determined and focused when they started on the trail with one minut apart. Nothing indicate that they have given up.
Neither Wærner or Haaland had any problem starting from the checkpoint, but Skjerve had to change his leaders to get going. This probably lost him a couple of minuts to Haaland and Wærner.
