Ronny Frydenlund (37) from Brumundal came into checkpoint Sirbma at 16.36, about an hour after the leader Inger-Marie Haaland. Our team in the trail tells us he almost looks a bit puzzled and that he is surprised to be in 2nd place so far out in the race.

About the leg from Varangerbotn he says it has been his hardest leg in Finnmarksløpet ever. –I had to work hard the entire leg, in very tough conditions on the mountains.

Ronny originally had a plan to run this leg together with the third musher in the trail Kristian Walseth. However, they both agreed after a while that Ronny could continue alone. Kristian has some dogs in his team that are in heat, which slowed him down a bit.
