Sixteen minutes behind Gonda, Ole Wingren started. About his chances to win Wingren states –Both me and my dogs have rested well. I always run slowly over Hundevidda, it is the legs after Jergul that are my best. But if Gonda’s dogs keeps up the pace in to Alta he will be too strong. Wingren also started out with 7 dogs.

Shortly after Wingren left Jergul, Katy Meier and Eline Lihagen stated out, respectively 9 and 11 minutes behind. Meier is pleased with the race so far.

-Gonda is probably out of reach. I have run at the same speed I had when I won in 2012. That the competitors are faster, I can’t do anything about.

It was an aggressive Lihagen who started out from Jergul close to the lead. – Both Wingren and Gonda are within reach. The stretch from Jergul to Alta is very long, so anything can happen before the finish line.

Lihagen’s handler and boyfriend Ole Sigleif Johansen liked what he saw when Lihagen left Jergul. –The dogs looked good; they kept a good rhythm and fast pace. I am pleased with how they looked.
