All the mushers in FL-500 shall rest a minimum of 20 hours. Therefore the team that has the fastest speed will lead the race.

As we write this, it is Leif Wilhelmsen who has the shortest driving time. He has used 13 hours and 23 minutes on the trail so far.

Almost as fast as Wilhelmsen, is Milos Gonda (35), from Slovakia, with the time 13 hours and 29 minutes. So there is just 6 minutes difference between the two up front. Gonda has experience from both Pasvik Trail and La Grand Oddyse. He has won both races. In total, Gonda has rested 23 minutes more than Wilhelmsen, though. It is hard to say if this has any influence on the time.

Only 3 minutes behind Gonda we find Wingren and Katy Meier on a shared third. They have both the time: 13 hours and 32 minutes.

Behind Wingren and Meier follows Espen Sønvinsen Bech on 13 hours and 37 minutes; Roy-Åge Jensen Ugseth at13 hours and 38 minutes and Eline Lihagen on13 hours and 40 minutes.

In other words it is a very tight race so far. The mushes are not half way yet, and have 280 k to go.
