Until arrived to Jotka's checkpoint, Elisabeth Edland got control over Katy Meier. 3,5 kilometers before the checkpoint Skoganvarre, Meier sped and chased the restless fighter from Nannestad. The battle has reversed in the last checkpoint, tells NRK-profile Hans Petter Dalby who follows the duel’s plot. The anxiety is taking over us to find out who will arrive first to Skoganvarre, for these are the mushers who are perceived as the favourites of the public. One title they share with Ole Wingren, who comes right after them in third place. This Scandinavian trio stands in front of the race for the last three years in a row, and it is now the main topic that lights several discussions on whom will be the winner of this year’s Finnmarksløpet. Despite the preferences, Edland is now losing terrain while Meier speeds.

Meier has set maximum speed since Jokta, and benefits now from Edland’s time loss.
