FL-1000: Friends and adversaries

Anxiety rules these two women right before the start of the race in Alta. Trine Lyrek raced before to a privileged fourth place last year, and knows now what is like to run 1000 km across the Finnmark county. Marianne Skjøthaug has already a past of long experience by working aside her husband Arne Karlstrøm, but this year, will stand at the starting line alone for the first time in her life at FML-1000.

 - Today I am so anxious that I am even feeling nauseous, she said, laughing nervously. 

A good and long hug from her friend Trine helps, and the worst anxiety is finally about to give up on her. She is ready to fight for a good rank position. 

 -  I am now looking forward to get it started.

 Both girls are counted in the top of this year’s race. Trine has competed together with Roger Dahl in recent years, and will surely fight for the podium places this year. Marianne, who has run FL-500 many times, races with a very strong dog pack. A position at the very top is within reach, also for her.
