Ronny is packing his sleigh, almost ready to start. He is smiling wide and his message is clear. – I am happy just to be part of this. It looked grim, but thanks to good friends among the competitors a fundraiser was started. Then the local papers came to visit and all of a sudden I had a couple of good sponsors that made it realistic to get to Finnmarksløpet this year as well. Right now I feel the nerves; I have been for the last week, so I can’t wait to get out in the tracks. We have had some good training runs here in Alta before the race and the dogs look good. Now we are just crossing our fingers and hoping for a good storm, which is when we are in our element.

Ronny also points out that he wants to defend his fifth place from last year’s race, and prove that it wasn’t just luck that gave him a top placing in the 1000 km long race.
