Finnmarksløpet is sad to report that one of Nina Skramstad’s dogs, Minnie, has passed away.
The dog was taken out of the team at checkpoint Levajok, and was under treatment when it passed. Chief veterinarian Hanna E. Fredriksen confirms the sad news and has worked on the case since she was informed Thursday afternoon.
The dog is being sent to the Veterinarian Institute in Tromsø for autopsy.
Musher Nina Skramstad has done everything correctly in caring for the dog and following the procedures of the race.
