Our expert Stein Håvard Fjestad has visited all the checkpoints casting his investigative eyes on this and that. Some have caught his interest, and Magne Storstein is one of them. Fjestad doesn’t say much, but he is nodding approvingly. He doesn’t seem at all surprised that the musher from Sandefjord is resting together with the best teams. This will be fine, Smestad believes. – Why? – I can see it on the dogs. The veteran seems certain. Nothing more to discuss, and we know that Storstein has been fast. He is currently holding the sixth place, between Arne Karlstrøm and Nina Skramstad. He was as fast as Nina Skramstad between Neiden and Varangerbotn, and slightly faster the stage before.

He has not been as fast as Arne Karlstrøm, currently holding the fifth place. Storstein’s handlers are pleased by his performance. They are happy that he doesn’t seem affected or stressed out by his achievements so far, or by the experienced mushers working so hard around him.

Storstein takes the time to chat a little, looking happy regardless the hectic environment. Now he is resting in Varangerbotn before the next leg towards Sirbma.
