Finally the first contestant arrived in Levajok 11:45 with 8 dogs in his team after nearly 13 hours. - The weather causes difficult conditions, he said, but they are the same for all of us. Within the checkpoint Bjørnar tried to find the dryest spot possible for the dogs to rest, but that proved to be difficult. The ground is bare and wet. The team looks calm and good. Bjørnar has been mushing with a bitch in heat at the front of his team. The male dogs in his team are not too tired to be interested in mating.

Svarten, Bjørnars good speeddog was put to the back of the team. It took Bjørnar 45 minutes to feed his dogs and supply them with water.

They got a mixture of meat snacks, dry fodder and more. The veterinarian checked the dogs and explained that they were in good shape.

Bjørnar is telling that he felt the trail down to Levajok was marked badly. - I was actually insecure whether I was on the right track when I came down here, he explained.

Surface water: The lakes and rivers are full of surface water. This picture
