His knee didn’t want to cooperate
The veteran Eirik Nilsen (52) from Alta got abstinences and couldn’t resist the temptation to make a comeback on FM-2012. Circus horses and sawdust…….. . Unfortunately it seemed like this didn’t work out like he thought. A troubling knee, attempted operated one year ago, started to swell. After a while he didn’t manage to step on it, and no doctors were available to tap some liquid from it. With all the soft snow in the track, the mushers have to work hard to keep up the speed. This was not possible with his knee. Eirik will try another knee operation in May, and we assume he returns in a comeback on another occasion.
