The jury of the Finnmarkslopet conducted in a meeting this morning at 9:15. The trail itself was now changed so that the race will not go to Karasjok anymore but through Skoganvarre, Jotka and down into Alta. This means that the race will be coming back on the same trail the mushers left last saturday. The jury wants to avoid mushing on the river and also the wettest and moistest areas.
Another topic is the circumstances about Bjørnar Andersens departure from the checkpoint before the course change. Andersen needed to be informed of the change and supplied with additional food and fodder. This obviously took some time and Frode Holten wazs held back for 40 minutes at the checkpoint before he was allowed to leave. So the jury will decide on how to react to these occurrences.
