As the first teams are leaving Karasjok it may seem like they are taking a wrong turn. That is not so, for after 12 kilometres from checkpoint the trail has been changed from the original skiing track to a scooter trail. This is done in order for the dogs to get a better trail to run on from Assebak’ti and towards Jergul. The detour is marked, but the GPS-tracking will not be correct.
