Historical Musher Meetings

For the first time in history, Finnmarksløpet had to organise two separate Musher Meetings, one for FL-1000 and another for FL-500. Both Finnmarksløpet’s Race Manager, Rita Hallvig, and Race Manager FL-500, Kari Jæger, says that it is important to always develop all parts of the race. This is a very pleasant challenge, they say.

 

With the great number of mushers, the meeting was in danger of becoming too long and ineffective. With separate meetings it is easier to give out information and to respond well to questions from the mushers, which save us time. This year it was done in order to get experience with it. Some mushers have indicated that they missed meeting the other mushers. The solution with separate meetings will be evaluated.
