Bjørnar Andersen defends his lead into the checkpoint at Polmak. He arrived at 17:26 needing only 8 hours and 55 minutes. So far this is the fastest time into Polmak. Frode Holten arrived in second place at 19:11 and surprisingly Kjell Brennodden as third at 20:15. While Kjell still has 10 dogs in his team, both of the mushers ahead of him have to rely on 9 dogs.

The couple from Tromsø, Tore Albrigsten and Tove Sørensen came in as fourth and fifth. Just like before it was Tore who arrived at the checkpoint one minute ahead of Tove at 20:52. The two have lost the third place to Kjell Brennoddenwho cam in 40 minutes ahead of them. Tove had one of her dogs in the sled and even though they were both exhausted they agreed on being happy and satisfied to have reached Polmak.

Roger Dahl, who came in as sixth, proved to be in good shape during the last stage. Being only 25 minutes slower than the fastest, leader Andersen, he strngthened the good impression he gave in the last stage that he finished with the best time. With this kind of speed Roger has proven once again that he is one of the top contestants for winning the race.
