The conditions out on the trail are truly unusual now. It is mild weather and the dogs break continuously through the snow. At times theres is water on the surface. But nothing of this can upset Connie Knoff. -As long as the dogs are fine and "function" according to their own terms, Connie will be happy, states her handler Kristin Thorsen.

A tense handler is standing at Neiden and waiting. Connie started out from Kirkenes at 10:37 in the morning. Kristin Thoresen says that she has to count on Connie taking at least 8 hours, that can quickly turn into 10 or 12 hours on the way from Kirkenes to Neiden.

Dogs come first

Connie came straight into the homes of the norwegian people on saturday when she was presented in the saturday news report from the Finnmarkslopet. At the moment she still has 12 dogs in her team. One of the dogs looked very tires when she came into Kirkenes, but the food and rest did wonders and the dog could continue. The handler explains that it is Connie's main strategy is to care well for the dogs. Then they will do a good job. Rest, food and water are the keywords.
