Norges mest kjente hundekjører Robert Sørlie, kjempet lenge om seireren i Finnmarksløpet 2011, men måtte se to kjørere foran seg i mål. Han leverte allikevel et meget bra løp.

From the very beginning of the race it was obvious that Robert Sørlie wanted to be in the front. Ha had the fastest time on many of the legs. However, after a while he had few dogs in his team which was not a good thing for a huge Robert Sørlie.
At the end it became hard for Sørlie and his dogs. The last part from Karasjok to Alta, was a hard journey. The speed was low and he could not match Roger Dahl. The competition for the silver, and the possibility of winning the prize for best average placement for the two races in 2010-2011, also became hard. Sigrid Ekran became too strong. Thus, the prize for the best average result - the cabin -went to Roger Dahl. That is why Robert said that Sigrid owed him money.
