Magnus (33) has finished Finnmarksløpet 500 in 2009 and 2010 as well as Pasviktrail and Femund 600/500. His goal for this year race was to make a real effort.
On a phone he says it was for the sake of the dogs that he scratched. There were only three dogs left that could continue. The welfare of the dogs was his main concern. He feels that scratching here leaves him and the dogs with positive experience. This has given him and the dogs a good experience for later races.
As the last man into checkpoint Sirma he reseived a reindeer hide as a gift from the checkpoint manager. He was very happy for that and it turned out to be a nice checkpoint after all.
