The Swedish handler Gøran Hult observed an ice- and snow covered Tana river where the mushers must work hard in strong winds. Beside the wind, the weather is nice but the conditions are tough for the mushers - so reports says that he is tired. They are happy with the race and the dogs so far and still have seven dogs in front of the sled.
When arriving Levajok Ronny Frydelund said that the efforts from lead dog Hermann is going to be rewarded with a place in the back seat of the car all the way home to Brumunddal and a place in the sofa for the rest of his life. Herman has been alone in the front so far and does not seem to loose motivation. Impressive!
Gøran Hult does not agree that Ronny automatically will catch the team in front of him because it is from Sweden! Memorable experiences in the race so far are many, Gøran says. In Tana Bru there was a market and he bought dried hearts. Ronny tasted it and immediately commanded the handler to buy more. All of it has been eaten on the way and Ronny says he has become addicted. Gøran Hult is now frantically searching for a driedraindeermeatheartpusher in Karasjok and thinks that as long as he can get the goods the team will climb on the result-list. More memorable experiences are reported, but they did not pass teh cencorship.
