Sigrid Ekran has arrived at the Karasjok in to the 2nd position.  More important she has made up 40 minutes on the leader Roger Dahl and has passed up Robert Sorlie having made up almost 2 hours on his team since mid-day yesterday.  Here at the Levajok checkpoint last night she and her team were bright, happy and moving well through the checkpoint.  The boys should be worried.

Just two days ago women dominated the Finnmarkslopet 500 when Elisabeth Edland and Marianne Skjothaug placed first and second out of a field of over 70 mushers.  Young up-and-coming  mushing star Aila Emille Sarre as well as Stine Berget Nordvik were also in the top ten of the 500 km race.  Do the math.

Women Rock.

With approximately 180 km to go to the finish line in Alta, Sigrid still has a shot at being the 2011 Finnmarkslopet Champion.
