FL-1000: Schumacher quits the race

Startnummer 82 Wolfram Schumacher har brutt.

After the16 hour rest Schumacher was motivated and ready to race on towards Kirkenes despite that he had taken out 3 dogs at the check point. With 10 dogs in the team he was positive to continue the journey in FL-1000, but after approx 1,5 hours on the trails he understood that the dogs were tired. They had no power and Schumacher decided to return to Neiden.

- No dogs are injured but they were too tired to go all the way to Alta, says Schumacher's handler. The dogs are eating and drinking well, but seem happy to rest. - We learn something every day and hope to come back to Finnmarksløpet next year, he continues.

- Now we are going to enjoy the coming days, follow the race and be in Alta when the winner of FL-1000 crosses the finish line. Those of us who are in the back group never get to see anything of the race, so now we get the chance to see the exciting finish. Even if it ended sadly for Schumacher, they are in good mood and happy about the experience. It is impressive that the team around Schumacher is positive about the situation, and that they now look forward to watching the race from the sideline.
