Kjell Brennodden is among the leaders in FL-1000. He has now arrived in Neiden. The speed has fallen a bit and the strategy for victory was busted early in the race, but Kjell has not given up. He hopes to find new muscles and then be able to cross the finish line among the best.

Mira leads on her own

It turns out that Mira, the dog who refused to stay behind when the car was packed and made ready home in Folldal, was right when she jumped into the front seat. She is now leading the team alone since the other leaders had to be left behind. In her pink dress Mira runs in front and has turned out to be a strong force in front of the other 10 workers. -It is impressive that she has become so important for keeping the team going, she was not meant to come along, says the handler. She must have felt what was going on and known that she had something to give in this long race. It is not strange that the press office has renamed her Magic Mira.

The cheering group is present

Every time Kjell Brennodden start in Finnmarksløpet he brings along supporters from Frankmotunet at Grimsbu in Hedemark, a rehabilitation centre for youth with drug problems where he is Manager. All the students did come along to Finnmark and follows the race all around FL-1000. With leaders they are all together thirty persons traveling in a bus and a mini-bus. His son Jo Are Brennodden is also competing in FL-1000 and the followers from Frankmotunet cheers on- and helps both him and his father around the county.

The cheer group has mushing as a part of their rehabilitation program home at Frankmotunet and know the dogs well. For many of the students it is their first visit to Finnmark and it is a good opportunity to be together, see the dogs they have trained in a competition and to see the sport close up her in the north.
