Thomas Wærner is a veteran and has raced Femund 500/600, Gausdal maraton and the Amundsen race among other. With many juvenile dogs in theis year's team he says this is practice and that he is "going for the win" in 2012. Young dogs or not, Thomas is so far in a strong 6th place upon arrival in Neiden 2.

-Thomas was in a good mood when he arrived, despite it being a tough leg and that it went slow across to Neiden 2. The musher and dogs are now resting, says handler Espen Lundgård on the phone from Neiden 2.

Thomas has had to take out one more dog, Taco which is one of the lead dogs. This means that he will continue with 9 dogs from here. He plans to rest about 5-6 hours, before he races on.

Handler Espen says that this year's goal is to get to the finish line. - Even though he is a good position so far, a lot can happen and the important thing for Thomas is to finish the race and mush the way the dogs decide.
