Cleggs in town! Melanie will turn 40 on march 16th!

Doreen (84) og Reginald (85) Clegg fra Manchester venter på at datter Melanie (40) skal komme til mål.

The bubbly couple from Manchester can be found every day and most of the day in the student café in the Studenthuset City. They tell finnmarkslopet.no that they will celebrate their daughters 40th birthday tomorrow, 16 march. Reginald and Doreen have been in Alta since Tuesday, 8th of March and will return to Manchester on Thursday 17th.  Melanie has been living in Norway for 6 years and it all started when Melanie as an RAF officer was posted on a jobb in Mågerø fort by Tønsberg. Part of the training in Norway was to go out with Svend Engholm to mush dogs. She got hooked! Now she lives with her 11 dogs by Vadsø and loves it. In an SMS message to Doreen on Monday evening she said that 2 or 3 dogs where tired and that she wasn't as fast as she hoped. - We expect her to cross the finish line this evening and hope to be there when Melanie crosses the finish line. If she arrives very late, then we can celebrate her Birthday and her arrival to Alta simultaneously!
