De to veteranene Ralph Johannesen og Robert Sørli gikk ut samtidig fra Kirkenes litt før klokka halv ni i morges. Selv om de er to og en halv time bak Roger Dahl, var det ikke tegn til stress hos de to.

It is now the hunt for the King's-cup starts for real. Both of the two experienced mushers have lost time to Roger Dahl. Out from Kirkenes Ralph Johannessen said to finnmarkslopet.no that he doesn’t plan to speed up in order to catch up with Dahl.
– It could be that Roger will go slower after some time. In that lays my hopes.
Ralph Johannessen has twelve dogs out from Kirkenes, while Robert Sørlie has nine. Now it all comes down to how well the mushers read their dogs so that the speed could be kept up for another 500kilometer.
