Margita Jarvis and Muriel Smith from London (both over 70 years old) have spend the last week out in the Finnmarksvidda on a guided dog sled tour. The finished their adventrue of with a short visit to our press centre/office to find out more about the Finnmarkslopet. They were full of enthusiasm after their amazing experiences out in the Vidda.
- We had never been on a dog sled before in our life, but with the good help of our guide were we able to go with the dog sleds for a week in the Vidda. We only fell of the sled once a day, explained a laughing Jarvis.
The guide Odd Knut emphasized that the "girls" did very well and that it was a big pleasure to have them with him. He adds that it is certainly not the most normal thing in the world to be out with two ladies of that age. -But, he concludes, mushing just does not know any age limit.
